Nationwide Radar Mosaics
WDT has been providing Level II data to our clients since 2001, through a program called “iRADS” at the University of Oklahoma. iRADS operates a 24/7 manned fully-redundant data center that guarantees Level II data from all CONUS radar with less than a 10-second delay.

Currently WDT ingests all of the 136 Level II radars available (8 radars remain Level III only) utilizing the notably high resolution and precision of Level II radar data  to provide superior products. WDT utilizes the remaining 8 Level II radars, to fill data-void areas of the CONUS mosaic.

In partnership with the National Severe Storms Laboratory we both have the experience and expertise to offer the most complete quality control of radar data and create the highest spatial (1km) and temporal resolution (2 minute update) national radar mosaic using cutting edge techniques to quality control and merge data from multiple radars.

IRaDS (Integrated Radar Data Services) is a program of the University of Oklahoma, through its Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms, that provides low-latency, streaming WSR-88D (NEXRAD) Level II (base) data from all radars provided by the National Weather Service.

The National Severe Storms Laboratory leads the way in investigations of all aspects of severe weather.
